Who can apply?

Amenity Grants Schemes are open to voluntary groups who have come together to improve their community. These groups can include:

    • Residents associations

    • Environmental groups

    • TidyTowns associations

What can the grant be used for?

The grant supports routine activities that make the environment more appealing. This includes cleaning, painting, gardening, and maintaining public spaces.

Projects that involve construction work are not normally covered by amenity grant schemes.

How much is available?

The amount of grant available depends on the take-up of the scheme in the local authority area, and may vary by year. Check with your local authority before you make your application.

How can I apply?

To apply check your local authority’s website for the application form. Amenity grant schemes are announced on an annual basis, and you’ll need to submit your application back to the local authority before a closing date. Your local authority’s website will also let you know the instructions you’ll need to follow for the grant to be paid.
