Grants and Funding

The Built Heritage Investment Scheme can assist with the repair and conservation of structures that are protected under the Record of Protected Structures or are in Architectural Conservation Areas or the amenity of a National Monument. 

The Community Monuments Fund provides funding to help owners and custodians of archaeological monuments to safeguard them into the future. The fund supports projects that conserve, maintain, protect and promote local monuments and historic sites.

The Historic Structures Fund (HSF) is available to help with the cost of for large-scale conservation works on historic structures.

The Domestic Lead Remediation Grant Scheme helps households to replace lead piping in their internal drinking water distribution systems. 

A housing adaptation grant may be provided where changes need to be made to a home to make it suitable for a person with a physical, sensory, or intellectual disability or mental health difficulty.

The Housing Aid for Older people scheme is used to improve the condition of an older person’s home through repair or improvement works. It is aimed at people aged 66+ living in poor housing conditions.

Local authorities can provide grant aid for minor works to address mobility problems in privately owned homes.

As part of the Repair and Leasing Scheme (RLS), the local authority may provide an interest-free loan to owners of vacant residential properties to help them bring them up to private letting standards.

Local authorities may provide financial support to social housing tenants to carry out improvement works to their homes.

This grant is available to property owners who intend to refurbish a vacant property to turn it into their permanent home or to rent it out to tenants.

The Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme (ORIS) provides funding to develop new outdoor recreational facilities in rural locations. It also provides support to repair, maintain and enhance existing outdoor recreational facilities. 

The Trading Online Voucher Scheme, offered through Local Enterprise Offices, is designed to assist small businesses with up to 10 employees to trade more online, boost sales and reach new markets. Participating in this scheme can make the process of trading online much easier for you.
